Changelog 22.09.02
This week, we improved our self-hosting install wizard, polished output of all CLI sub-commands, and rewrote `touca post` and `touca zip` sub-commands to be more developer friendly.
Happy Friday! Here's a recap of what we shipped this week.
Better self-hosting install wizard
If you have ever self-hosted Touca, you have gone through our install wizard, which includes a form asking for your full name and email. But once you completed the install wizard, we showed you yet another form to ask for a username and password and your full name yet again! We heard feedback that this second form is confusing and out of place. So fixed it.
Self-hosted install wizard now includes a dedicated account creation page, resulting in a more intuitive developer experience
CLI improvements
We released Touca CLI v1.5.8 today with numerous improvements. We invite you to pip install --upgrade touca
and take it for a spin. In the meantime, here are some the highlights:
Rich formatting of output
All Touca CLI sub-commands now enjoy a more polished and developer-friendly output.
New touca help
sub-command

sub-command. In addition to showing help description for various sub-commands, touca help

Improved touca zip
sub-command
For users who need to store a local copy of test results for archiving and disaster recovery, touca zip
now automatically detects new test result binary files and archives them. All supported configuration options are now optional so you can run touca zip
and forget about the rest.
Improved touca post
sub-command
If you like to back-fill a new Touca Server with test results for previous versions, touca post
now submits your local copy of your test results to the server, without the need for passing any configuration option.
